FIRST REACH FAVOURITES

Over these past few months, I've still loved playing about with my make up - blog or no blog. When Christmas was around and I moved back home there were a few items in my stash that I took with me everywhere I travelled.

My absolute obsession was the Burberry Quad in Gold No.2 that I think could have been Limited Edition, but check out your nearest counters. It was insanely easy to make any eye look out of this quad and I even found myself doing a quick five minute smoky eye on a friend minutes before having to leave on New Years Eve! Not the best quality eye shadow I've used - there's some fall out - but very pigmented and luxurious.

Another eye love is the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Pearl Grey No.17. Yes, not Pale Barley! I'm not entirely sure on the Pale Barley obsession, but maybe you have to try it to love it? Pearl Grey is an easy shade to just sweep all over the lid for an easy but defined lid. Pair it with lashings of mascara and a nude lip for an pared down but classy look.

Everyone's favourite, Chanel Les Beige has been a staple handbag item, a quick dusting on the face leaves you matted down yet glowy - what more could you want? My boyfriend even said the smell reminded him of me. No complaints there!

Nars Sheer Glow fell off my radar for a bit. I never bothered buying a pump and hated the faff of getting the liquid out. It is absolutely worth the effort though and it is again a firm favourite of mine. It blends in so effortlessly and makes my skin look absolutely flawless. I used to always blend this with the Real Techniques buffing brush, but have recently been converted to getting hands on with it, creating a lighter finish.

What have been your latest loves? I'm definitely in the market for some good beauty knowledge...

FELINE FLICK

Like many people lately, I've ditched my usual neutral shaded smokey eye and picked up the trusty gel liner to get my cat eye oooonn. An extra 10 minutes getting ready, hundreds of cotton buds and an added dose of frustration later and I find myself sporting the feline flick.

This ultra feminine look leaves room for so many more activities on the rest of face. Pair with a slight flush and a bold lip or an added pinch and a neutral lip this is a day to night ready template. I've been loving wearing the new Revlon Matte Balms in Standout for a long-wearing party look.

The Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner (What a ridiculously long name..) will always be the top of the bunch when it comes to liner for me. It's ultra black, insanely long lasting but super easy to apply and build up. I like to apply it with the Real Techniques Accent Brush as it's dense enough to create a sharp line yet small enough to keep absolute control of.

I like to tight line whenever I do my feline flick just so you can't see any gaps around the lashes. For this, my absolute must-have pencil liner is from Daniel Sandler. I've absolutely raved about it here, so I won't bore you too much, but it's lasted many nights out on my tight line and I've had no transfer whatsoever.

What look have you been sporting lately? Any must have products from you guys?

loreal mascaras - volume million and voluminous

Both of Volume Million Lashes and Voluminous have appeared in recent posts of mine - Products Worth the Hype, My Essentials - Makeup Bag and a What's on my Face post. These have soon turned into staple products in my make up routine.

I never expected to like Volume Million Lashes as I don't usually like plastic brushes, they just don't seem to cling to my lashes right and it does a better job pulling mascara off of my lashes that putting it on. This one is different though, the brush sits in my lashes perfectly picking up every single lash no matter how small and creating lovely length and with a couple more coats makes brilliant volume. With the formula being quite wet, if that makes sense, it's a good one to keep in your make up bag for any surprise nights out, you can sweep this on to create a thicker, more defined look.

I'd never even heard of Voluminous, but I picked it up as I liked the fibre brush, but I never expected it to give me volume like the name suggests as the wand just looks so thin. I was wrong, this creates volume in only one coat, my lashes are thick, separated and really nice, they don't looked spidery or flakey at all.
I've not experienced any problems with these, they both stay put all day with very minimal flaking.

For High Street mascara, the price is a bit higher than I'd expect, Volume Million retails at £11 and better, Voluminous at around £8. I managed to get these both at Superdrug, however Voluminous isn't appearing on the website, so linked above it to feelunique.com .

estee lauder gentle eye makeup remover

I've never really used eye makeup remover before, but when the Estee Lauder one came in at work, I snapped it straight up.

First of all, I'm not 100% sure if I love the packaging, it looks too plasticy haha, not like their others such as foundation that's a very classy, opaque bottle. But never mind, it's not the bottle that's doing the job!

There's not really a scent, it just smells a lot like water which I really like. If there was a scent I'd probably end up assuming it was going to sting or be bad for my eyes - not good. But the lack of scent makes it seem very pure and simple.

I think I tipped the bottle four times onto a cotton wool pad, which was more than enough. It removes make up quickly and effortlessly with no sensitivity, redness or stinging when it goes in my eye! What's better, there was not even a hint of a panda eye the next morning.

I don't think I'd ever repurchase this product unless it came into work again, it's so expensive and I'm sure I could find other eye makeup removers for a fraction of the price. But for now, I'm going to bask in this luxury product haha!
