leibster award number 5! you spoil me.

How exciting! I've managed to get myself another Leibster award, this time from Emily, and I still feel as proud as I did receiving my first. Like my last one, which you can find here, I'm only going to answer the questions I was given - I don't want to bore you guys!

My questions were -

1. What's your favourite item of clothing or jewelry?
Difficult one! My boyfriend gave me a bracelet that he made for Christmas this year, sentimentally, this is definitely my favourite piece of jewelry, so cute. Clothing.. I actually have the same top in 3 different colours from H&M. I don't think they sell it anymore, but it's basically an over sized basic t-shirt, I have it in cream and shimmer, bronze and shimmer and plain grass green.

2. What's your biggest fashion faux pas in history?
When I was in school, aged about 14-16, I used to be well into the "Scene" style. I dyed my hair jet black and wore tight band t-shirts and skinny jeans all the time which, considering my figure, looked HORRENDOUS. I also wore hair extensions and backcombed all my hair till it literally stood up straight.

3. What's your favourite skin care or cosmetic product and why?
I've been sat with my head in my make up box for 10 minutes trying to come up with an answer for this! I think it may be the YSL Touche Eclat foundation. It's just such a perfect formula for my skin and makes me feel a million dollars when I'm wearing it! There's a review here.

4. Timeless or trend?
Eeerm, I do like to stay on trend, buuut if that particular thing doesn't suit me or my figure, I'm more than happy to stick with my last season favourites that I know look good on me.

5. What is your biggest fear?
I am scared of EVERYTHING. I definitely think my biggest fear though is the unknown. I hate not knowing what's coming, whether it's not knowing how uni will be, or not knowing if something is creeping around in the middle of the dark night. Creepy!

6. What accomplishment are you most proud of? 
Honestly? This blog. I've never put so much time or effort into anything I've ever done. I love to see it pay off by people leaving the nicest comments and of course, winning these awards!

7. Water or wine?
I love both, however it would not be practical at all to be drinking wine all the time, as much as I wish it would be haha! I'll go for water.

8. Is your glass half empty or half full?
Sadly, half empty! I don't like to get my hopes up for things and I know that's such an awful way to look at it but hey, anything else is then a bonus!

9. Heels or flats?
I love a good heel, even if it's just a small one on a boot! I wish I had more opportunity to wear heels (and more pairs!) but it just isn't practical :(

10. Whose sense of style do you idolize?
Erm, I don't really think I follow any kind of style, or massively keep an eye on it! I just like what I like haha.

11. Who is the worst dressed celebrity to date?
Like I said above, I don't really have much of an idea about that kind of thing!

fourth leibster award, what?!?

Now, this is my fourth leibster award, so I won't bore you with most of it, but I'll certainly answer the questions for you!
I'm incredibly grateful to have received this award from Katie at itstimetobefearless, I don't want to seem rude in not doing the whole post, but I don't want my responses to become too repetitive or to bore my readers.

So, here's what Katie asked:

1. What is your dream job?
I find this one kind of difficult to answer. I've only just got to grips with where I want to go in life, and got unconditionally accepted onto a PR course at university. Until I actually start the course, my understandings of where it will take me are pretty little. Currently, I would love to work in beauty/fashion. I hope that makes sense haha!

2. Best three items you bought in 2012?
This is a difficult one! I think MaxFactor FaceFinity Foundation is my favourite foundation of 2012, Benefits Boi-ing concealer, even though I've not had it long it's been an absolute God send! Finally I think the Kate Moss Matte lipsticks are just incredible :). That one really was super difficult, I can hardly remember what I had for tea last night!

3. Favourite Film?
Hmmm, really difficult one, I have loads of favourites. Probably Rainman, Step Brothers, 500DOS, Anchorman... I can't choose :(

4. Best bargain you purchased recently?
Well, working in a charity shop has it's plus points! I got a £5 voucher at Christmas as a thank you, and the other week we got in quite a few unopened Estee Lauder products, so I got the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, a lipgloss (that I'm not a huuuuge fan of), Pleasure perfume, Sumptuous Extreme mini mascara and two eyeshadows with my £5 voucher!

5. When you switch on your computer, what is the first thing you check on the internet?
Blogger haha! I love to see whether anyone has left me a comment, or if there's any posts from my favourite bloggers etc.

6. If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Chinese! Absolutely love it, I could eat it eeeeveryday!

7. You can have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
A cat! Any type of cat, I love them. A bear would be so cute, and some exotic birds. Assuming these pets wouldn't kill me anyway...

8. A band that you would love to see live?
I'm fairly lucky in that I've managed to see my favourite bands, but I would love to see Muse and Coldplay, but I've always missed out on the opportunity to do so :(

9. Do you think you'll stick to your new years resolutions this year?
I've already broken one, I didn't take my make up off last night, and I regret it SO much. Here are my resolutions!

10. Do you have a nickname?
Eeerrrm, yes and no. My parents/sister call me HB through text, but otherwise there's just Hayles, but no, not really!

11. What are you looking forward too most in 2011?
Starting university! Me and my boyfriend very briefly mentioned moving into a little student flat or something in my second year if we're both financially stable too, so more talks&actions about that would be exciting!

my third leibster award? I must be doing something right!

Hello you lovely people! I have been nominated for my third leibster award. I'm so happy about this, and really surprised considering my blogging has certainly gone down hill these last couple of weeks! The lovely Toni at Hearts, Roses & Polka Dots nominated me this time. 1. It's mine and my boyfriends 11 month anniversary today!

2. I'm ridiculously excited for Christmas, more than I ever have been.

3. I'm loving this cold weather, just another reason to dress down.

4. MaxFactor tweeted me replying to one of my blog posts. I'm sure you can imagine my face!

5. I sent my UCAS application off yesterday.

6. I've applied for Public Relations, exciting!

8. I've just had a big delivery from the Avon which I am SO excited to try out!

10. I've not cuddled my cat all day, definite withdrawal symptoms.

1. What sort of blog posts do you enjoy the most? I love reviews of products and beauty wishlists!

2. What beauty product is your fail safe item? Oooooh this is a tough one :( I guess Rimmel Stay Matte powder, you can't go wrong with the price and quality.

3. Which is your favourite beauty brand? I think Maybelline, Not all of the products are amazing, I definitely have better foundations and mascaras, but I like all of their products... I hope that makes sense!

4. Which is your favourite fashion brand? Eeeerm, H&M probably, as I don't have a job, the price and quality from here is decent, they do have some amazing items though.

5. Where in the World would you like to live? I love living in England and Sheffield to be honest. I think I might want to live in/closer to London though :)

6. What is your favourite part about yourself? No negatives here please ladies! eeerrm hahaha, I like my eyebrows, and I guess my lips, they don't have a gorgeous shape and aren't as plump as I'd love, but they never get dry or cracked :)

7. Who is your all time favourite band/artist? I literally cannot answer this! My music taste is constantly all over the place, it changes every other month.

8. Who inspires you? There's a popular blogger called Lily Pebbles, she's literally my idol at the moment. That seems so silly, but I don't know, I am! 

9. Who are your top 3 fellow bloggers? I couldn't choose three, sorry! 

10. What is your favourite food? Mexicaaann! Love a good taco mmmm :)

11. If you could be an animal, what would you be and why? CAT. Because cats are amazing.

i've won my second leibster award!

So this is the second time I've been nominated for the Leibster award, and it makes me so happy to know people are reading and recognising my blog. I sometimes think that I'm talking to an empty audience, so it's always nice to know that people are taking notice! I'll get on with it.

This one is so, so difficult! I think it's got to be DKNY Golden Delicious, I receive so many compliments when wearing it!

Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dream Coat! Absolutely amazing :)

4. Is there a musical artist you listen to which others might not expect you to?

I listen to Eminem all the time, I don't think people would expect that?!

I think Japan or Hong Kong, I'd love to see their culture.

If I had the money, I would be going out all the time! That sounds awful, but it's fun, I'm young!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I've not seen many films at all this year but I looooved this.

I had my lip pierced, there's still a bit of a hole? Hahaha

Wearing thick jumpers and being able to see your breath, but most importantly, snow!

It's not exactly a trend, but I'm loving the colour burgundy, it looks amazing this time of year.

Helloooo! Well, considering I've only been blogging around a month, I was super excited when I saw I'd been nominated for this by the wonderful Rachael over at '5'1, is the new 6'2'.
I'll be honest, I was (and still am) sliiiightly confused about exactly what it is, but nevertheless, I'm incredibly proud to get it, it makes me feel like what I'm saying is actually getting somewhere. So, let me get on with it, time for you to get to know me better!

Here are my 11 questions from Rachael:

1. Why do you blog? I blog because I have always wanted to get what I have to say out there! Originally, I did it so I could get a bit of experience in Journalism before starting a course at University, but now I've really gotten into it, it's something I'm quite serious about, it has changed my career prospects and it just makes me super happy.
2. Hair care or make-up if you had to pick one? I'm going to have to say make-up! I can deal with my hair not looking it's best (just about!) but I love trying out new make-up.
3. If you could pick any city for a night out which and why? I would love to try Manchester one night! I've never been but I know so many people who say so many good things about it.
4. Heels or Flats and why? (I know which I am! *cough* heels *cough*) Heels! I'd love to wear heels all the time. They're so prettyyyy. 
5. Your BIGGEST annoyance about blogging? Not being able to think of anything decent to blog! Or getting an idea, starting it and then realising that what you're saying is just completely pointless. 
6. Craziest drunk act? I don't think I really have anything! I'm quite a sensible junk, I'm quite a funny drunk rather than a 'crazy act' drunk.
7. Can you speak any other languages, if so, what? If not, do you want to? I can speak German and French, to an extent. That was going on 3 years ago though haha.
8. Would you ever sky dive? (I have a strange curiosity about this hehe) No way. No. Not at all. No... No. 
9. Favourite phrase/quote and why? Treat people how you wish to be treated. I think it's incredibly important, if you respect someone, they'll respect you. If they don't respect you, they're not worth your time. 
10. What's your dream job? My dream job would be to work in theatre. I did Performing Arts and Music at college, but as much as I'd love to do it, a dream is all it is to me. 
11. Have you read an erotic novel - if yes, which and why? (Don't you ladies lie to me!) Well I've read the 50 Shade series! That's all though. I started reading it before the 'hype'. My friend recommended it to me, but didn't exactly say what it was about, cheeky!
